23 years of experience and a proven track record at leadership level for a long time. The lady is a visionary and it is under her leadership that RED FM today stands at having the biggest and the widest network of Radio stations spread all across the country.
Nisha, a Chevening Scholar, and having completed her studies in Journalism operates efficiently in the ‘NOW’ and ‘FUTURE’ zone of the Radio World. She plans for now with a firm eye on the future of the Radio world. Presently RED FM has multiple IPRs under the brand banner such as RED LIVE, RED BANDSTAND, RIDERS MUSIC FESTIVAL, SWAG FEST & THE YELLOW TAXI MUSIC PROJECT to name a few.
What she has is tenacity and a core that is of steel. It takes a different level of capability to move resources and mobilize men, women and machinery to create widest network of Radio stations. She has the knack of getting some of the best talent at RED FM as the result of the continuous evolving attitude that has percolated from her to the team. She is an opinion leader and especially when it comes to policies in the world of Radio.
The lady with a penchant for saris is an inspiration for many. We are proud and honoured to feature her in season 3 of #9women9days.
What am I known for ?
I am leading a team that consists of explosive talent that needs nurturing. I have had to innovate at work depending on the nature of tasks and timelines for various projects. My job is such that I have to don many hats. The one thing that I am sure off is that once I have decided on a course of action, I need to get it done swiftly. My decision making is quick and I need my team to be equally upbeat to deliver the results that I seek. In the process, I become a taskmaster and my team is well aware of this.
The one advise I would give to my younger self on professional and personal front
Be Yourself. Do not emulate and try to become somebody that is just not you. The confidence that you will gain as the result of being yourself, will be your strength and that is what is going to differentiate you from the rest.
A tough decision that I needed to take
I chose to jump into a busy career that demanded my time. It is always difficult to balance work and family life and that has been tough. I hardly remember the school functions which I was unable to attend for my son. The sports days and annual gatherings have had to miss out on over the years. Yes, I did miss out on his growing years. What I did have was a terrific support system at home which helped me to seek greater challenges freely at work and to pursue my ambitions and dreams.
Biggest learning from my parents
They taught me not to fear anything. Their support and blessings have always given me the strength to be resilient in tough times, move ahead and grow.
An accomplishment you are proud of?
We have expanded at a frenetic pace. The challenge has been to cater to diversity of audiences and the conditions prevailing to set up our Radio stations all across India. I travel extensively and sometimes almost 25 days in a month. RED FM has the largest and widest network of Radio Stations in the country and I am very proud of RED FM and everything RED FM stands for. #BajaateRaho

२३ वर्षांचा अनुभव आणि गुणवत्ता, दूरदृष्टी आणि नेतृत्व गुणांच्या बळावर नीशा नारायणन यांच्या नेतृत्वाखाली रेड एफएमने देशातल्या सर्वात मोठ्या आणि सर्वदूर पसरलेल्या रेडिओ स्टेशन्सचं नेटवर्क होण्याचा सन्मान मिळवलाय. असामान्य बुद्धीमत्ता, पत्रकारितेचा सखोल अभ्यास आणि त्याबरोबरच आज आणि उद्या या दोन्हींची नेटकी सांगड घालत नीशा रेडिओच्या क्षेत्रात कार्यरत आहेत. आजचं नियोजन करताना रेडिओच्या जगातल्या उद्याचा त्या वेध घेत असतात. सध्या रेड एफएमच्या छत्राखाली रेड लाईव्ह, रेड बॅंडस्टॅंड, रेड डिजिटल अशा कंपन्याही उत्तम काम करत आहेत. दृढ निश्चय आणि आपल्या निर्णयांवर ठाम राहायच्या गुणामुळेच मनुष्यबळ, यंत्रसामग्री आणि साधनांच्या मदतीने देशातलं सगळ्यात मोठं रेडिओ नेटवर्क उभारण्यात त्यांना यश मिळालं आहे. त्याचाच परिणाम म्हणून रेडिओच्या जगातल्या काही गुणवंतांना त्यांनी रेड एफएमवर आणलं आहे. रेडिओच्या जगात कुठलीही पॉलिसी ठरवायची वेळ येते तेव्हा निशा यांचा शब्द अंतिम असतो. उत्तमोत्तम साड्या हा त्यांच्या विशेष अभिरुचीचा भाग आहे.
#9women9days या कॅंपेनमध्ये त्या आहेत याचा आम्हाला आनंद आणि अभिमान वाटतो.
- मी कशासाठी ओळखली जाते?
प्रंचड उर्जा आणि हुशारी असलेल्या, पण दिशा देण्याची गरज असलेल्या एका टीमची लीडर म्हणून मी काम करते. प्रोजेक्टची डेडलाईन आणि त्यातली कामं यांच्याप्रमाणे मला स्वतंत्र नियोजन करावं लागतं. टास्क नेमून द्यावे लागतात. कामाची दिशा एकदा ठरली की सगळं सहज व्हावं असा माझा प्रयत्न असतो. माझे निर्णय मी झटपट घेते, त्यामुळेच माझ्या टीमनं ही ते तितक्याच झटपट अंमलात आणून रिझल्ट द्यावेत हा माझा आग्रह असतो. या प्रक्रीयेत मी टास्क मास्टर होऊन जाते आणि माझ्या टीमलाही हे चांगलं माहितीये!
- माझ्या ज्युनियर्सना पर्सनल आणि प्रोफेशनल आयुष्य जगण्यासाठी माझा सल्ला
तुम्ही तुमच्यासारखे रहा, इतर कुणाचं अनुकरण करायला जाऊ नका. त्यातून तुम्हाला जो आत्मविश्वास मिळेल तो तुम्हाला इतर सगळ्यांपेक्षा वेगळे ठरायला मदतच करेल.
- मला घ्यावा लागलेला सगळ्यात कठीण निर्णय
माझ्या भरपूर वेळेची डिमांड करणाऱ्या नोकरीत पडणं हा मी घेतलेला सगळ्यात कठीण निर्णय आहे. घर आणि ऑफिस यांचा ताळमेळ घालणं हे नेहमी अवघड असतं. मुलाच्या शाळेतल्या कार्यक्रमांना हजेरी लावायला मिळाल्याचं किंवा त्याच्या गॅदरिंगला जायला मिळाल्याचं मला आठवतही नाही. त्याच्या वाढत्या वयात मी जवळ नव्हते हे खरंय. पण माझ्या मागे असलेल्या कुटूंबाच्या भरभक्कम पाठिंब्यामुळेच मोठी स्वप्न पहाणं आणि ती प्रत्यक्षात उतरवणं मला शक्य झालं!
- माझ्या पालकांनी शिकवलेली सगळ्यात महत्वाची गोष्ट
त्यांनी मला माझ्यासारखं रहायला आणि व्हायला शिकवलं. त्यांचे आशीर्वाद आणि पाठिंबा यांच्या बळावर मला सतत पुढे जात राहाण्याची आणि वाढण्याची उर्जा देतात!
- तुमच्या कोणत्या यशाचा तुम्हाला अभिमान वाटतो?
एका अमर्याद अशा पेसमध्ये आम्ही आमचा विस्तार केलाय. देशभरात रेडिओ स्टेशन्स सुरु करताना त्या त्या ठिकाणच्या वेगवेगळ्या भाषा, आवडीनिवडीच्या श्रोत्यांना आवडेल असा कंटेंट देणं हे मोठं आव्हान आहे. मी प्रचंड प्रमाणात प्रवास करते, कधी तरी तर महिन्यातले पंचवीस दिवस प्रवासात जातात. रेड एफएमने देशातलं सर्वात मोठं आणि विस्तारलेलं रेडिओ नेटवर्क म्हणून नाव कमावलंय आणि मला त्याचा खूप अभिमान वाटतो!
